@david Seeing her like that fills my heart with glee! How had it helped her?
She’s been sniffing more on our walks and staying calmer for longer. Today, she sniffed at least 2/3 of our walk and had a HUGE first.
Setting the stage: Betty is EXTREMELY bathroom shy. Her first household yelled and terrified her when she was little and was seen going potty inside, so now she HATES to do so around humans. In the almost 2 years she’s lived with us, I’ve only accidentally witnessed her go a few times, and twice were desperation/accidental pees. She will wait until I leave the house for the day to run out into the yard and do her business!
Now: halfway through today’s walk, she got to check out this cute fake hydrant. Just past it is a fence with a mulch area numerous dogs like to use for potty. She sniffed the area heartily, then as calmly as you please turned around, popped a squat, and peed! I almost exploded with joy and pride. ????
The last two pics of her sticking her head into a culvert were at the start of the walk. Honestly, I was excited to see her so this because she’s willing to be brave and explore!
