Tone of voice can help dogs understand “I’m not a threat; no reason to guard that against me.” I wasn’t there for this interaction, but I suspect that’s what Bri had in mind with her vocalizations, especially since the leash had already been dropped.
“Praise” would assume the dog found something in the voice that was reinforcing, or that the dog would want human interaction. I don’t see any evidence in this body language that the dog is at all interested in human interaction, do you?
