Well done, @Wanze Heidi! I think this is a GREAT place for LAT. And your suggestions to work further from the excitement is spot-on. Distance is always the first variable I work with.
Regarding writing training plans: Be sure you differentiate between the “Plan” aka what you need to be thinking about and a “Summary” aka what you give the client. You will want a longer term vision for your plan but you can/should only share 1-3 exercises each time for the client to be working on. BABY STEPS so they don’t get overwhelmed, while telling them, “Don’t worry – I know where we are going with these, just do this piece this week and next week, I’ll give you the next steps.”
I usually write the BIG GOAL across the top of the page, so they know I have it in mind and then, their successes “Big Wins This Week” and then “Practice This Week”. They need to see the progress as much as what to work on, next.
TIP: Keep it SHORT!!! Don’t spend as much time writing notes for them as you spent in the lesson! These should be bullet points, not paragraphs.
Hope that helps.
