Thanks for bringing this case, @ruthabigail – I’m sure the DD members will have ideas for you. Meanwhile, I’m curious about the start of the behavior. You said that it began when you were absent from the house. That’s certainly a stressor for these cuddly pups! Who was watching the dogs – a familiar or unfamiliar person? How frequently did this occur with that person? What were the situations they saw it occur?
Meanwhile, obviously, you can begin to manage it in the places where it happens… taking one dog out at a time… I recommend alternating dogs and giving the other one a medium-lasting chew to work on while the first dog goes out so that they don’t get jealous of being with you in that moment.
