When the service dogs would get into pacing mode (moving the legs on the same side of the body forward at the same time) I found that to be an unnatural gait. I would either speed up the treadmill to move them into a trot or slow it down to move them into a more natural walk. Try looking at him from the side and see what you think. The other think I noticed was how easily it is to throw a dog off balance with the food placement. We had to teach our handlers to feed the dogs centered and low so that they wouldn’t stumble.
