Great question! This is one of those situations where it’s best to bring your people skills out first and foremost.
Have you had a full discussion about her concerns yet, really getting to know her side of the story? Why she likes one method over the other? Exploring if there is anything she doesn’t like about the current method she’s using?
I think that letting her fully tell her side of the story by asking a lot of good questions with no judgment can go a long way. I find that: a) it helps a person feel heard and release any emotions/blocks that are preventing an open mind, and b) it gives you a chance to listen for a bit and really understand what she wants and what she doesn’t want. With that information, you’ll see more clearly whether you can make a case by appealing to what she really cares about.
If you go right to articles before having that type of discussion, I’m afraid you’ll find that her defenses will still be up, even with the greatest article ever written. ????
What do others think? Have you been in these situations before? Have any success stories and approaches to share?
