I asked a question about credible research articles concerning the effect aversive training methods can have on dogs for the same reason. I also explained to an owner who was using a prong collar to an already fearful dog how it is causing more harm psychologically to the dog. That’s why I too was hoping real research and not opinion would help a dog owner understand- here it is based on fact. I’ve always thought it would be nice to have training classes strictly for owners first – maybe a session or two about topics important to understand if you own a dog – then bring the training in. I speak from experience in the past of just not knowing!
