@david sniffing is really Joy’s biggest joy and we have been using that to our advantage. Hide and seek and finding treats or people are her favorite games inside. And most of our walks are sniff walks.
But I also have the feeling that that’s were her fear comes from, since its very unpredictable but it looks like she smells something which triggers her fear. Sometimes she will walk like there is nothing scary in the world, and the next time she won’t move an inch and nothing visible has changed.
She does like well behaved dogs. She had a best friend Lucy her first year and walking with her was like day and night. But it didn’t always help. Sometimes even Lucy couldn’t convince her to go further. But it was great to see how they both empowered each other, since Lucy usuall would bark at people, but when Joy was with her she didn’t. But then we moved away. I will try to find us a new walking buddy.
