I currently have this dog’s identical twin in my day training program ???? I’ve empowered the kids to be part of the training by carrying a dog toy in their pocket. When pup initiated mouth play the kids now put a toy in his mouth. No running to find one so it turns into a game, just be a baby trainer and keep a toy or two in their pocket. This in turn is teaching pup to make better choices, he’s learning to carry a toy in his mouth. I also teach the kids to BE A TREE! If pup comes to them like a koo koo pants they play a tree (arms by sides face away) taking away the look to pup that that are a toy to play with. 150% agree with leash in house and rewarding for EVERY desired behavior. Minimizing pups opportunities may help set him up for success; setting up divider for kids to play on 1 side and pup on the other. This was pup can learn to be around the actions and sounds without reinforcing undesired behaviors. While that goes on I’d definitely start working in mat training. Ideally pup going to place, learning a rest cue would help impulse control and drain that energy mentally while he resists all those urges.
Good luck you got this!
