Hi – I just posted what I thought was to this feed but I don’t see it so I’ll try again. As far as jumping goes, I am working with my puppy to go to her crate every time she hears 2 knocks. If a visitor comes, I have a sign on my front door that says “knock 2 times” – when she hears 2 knocks, she goes straight for the crate and I heavily reward her. I also knock twice on a wall or table when I anticipate she may jump on someone in the house. In the crate she goes and a yummy treat follows. It works better than me having her in a sit stay when she’s highly aroused. When she calms down I release her from the crate. Hope it helps.

Also, my standard poodle loves to bite my puppy when highly aroused in play. I always watch and sound a clicker before she makes contact and treat immediately. Maybe you could watch your dog before he touches your kids, mark and reward. It also worked when our puppy was playing too rough with our 15 year old pug. I would mark and reward before contact and she finally learned to leave the pug alone.
