    Hi everyone!

    I thought there was a topic and resources here somewhere but can’t find it so….

    I am looking for recommendations for a good audio or book on body language for first time dog owners.

    I know Canine Body language by Brenda Aloff is out there; it can be overwhelming to some and Turrid Ruggas Calming signals but, who has some other great resources that is basic and easy to understand. Also, that you enjoyed and found to be educational.

    I have a new client , first time dog owners with a 11 month old pup who is communicating and they are not seeing it. Luckily, and thankfully the adult son has done plenty of research already, enjoys learning and is willing to learn. My mind is blank about a resource for him.

    ( the son would actually make a good trainer in my opinion, from what I have seen in just two sessions with the family!)

    Thank you!

    Hi Jen,

    My first and best recommendation isn’t a book! It’s the daily game, https://www.flippedondogs.com/

    Our target audience is exactly like your clients! Plus the games only take 5 minutes a day.

      I don’t why I thought this was CC only! Thanks!

      I am going to share it with them now!

      Yeah! I’ve shared FOD with my clients, especially those on Instagram. I have some who’ve played and said they learned a lot about dogs signals and language. @catherine

      I try to play often and I submit a few clients’ doggies (with their permission) at times. I’ve had a few get featured! It’s a great way and little time commitment on their part.

      Hope you share, @jenz !

        @bernerlabreclectus

        Thanks for the tip on Nordic Education- I have ever heard of them but will check them out!

        Super cool you share FOD with your clients; I can see how that can act as an engagement game/tool to build the client/ trainer relationship now! Do you ask them questions or their thoughts about “today’s game”?

        I am standing myself in the corner to think about why my brain did not make the connection to do this! ????????

    Also, if you go to Nordic Education Center for Dog Trainers, they have some “free lectures” (ha! If that don’t pull them in…the wording alone…) on calming signals, dog walks without pulling, etc on this link: https://www.nordicdogtrainer.com/free-resources/
