Hello everyone! I was having a training session with a 6 month old shepherd that wasn’t used to small dogs. Can you guess what was going on in these photos? This was their first time interacting with each other, Klara is the German Shepherd and Chicklet is the Min Pin.

@CBradley Love this. There’s nothing like taking your own body language photos to learn it.

I’m seeing some really cool discussion between these dogs… Thanks for making a whole separate post here so we don’t lose it in the flow.

I know @Ruth already posted her thoughts in the other thread… (thanks, Ruth!)

    Let’s dig in, all!

Interesting! Using treats to help entice them to get closer? It’s hard to really see what is happening but the smaller guy seems to be using curved body here. The German Shepard appears to be watching the faces of the people for some support or ideas!

I don’t know what happened to my third picture but in the first picture Klara is actually trying to get attention from Chicklet’s owner, I could tell that Chicklet was uncomfortable with her that close so I told Klara’s owner to give Chicklet a treat. She seemed to relax when I had her do that in the second picture.

In the second picture Klara wanted to play with Chicklet so she started barking, I caught her mid bark.
