Sometimes, I think we hold back sharing ????because we think what we’ve got going on is “not enough”… but whether we are training dogs, ????coaching clients or simply getting showered ????and dressed (on some days, amiright?) we can celebrate EVERY small win.

    • Did your dog cuddle a little longer today?
    • Did you remember to make that appointment?
    • Did you just sit in gratitude?

Maybe you accomplished a training session, or had a break thru moment with a client – we want to hear big wins, too!

    But, little wins are great:

Today I took a 10 min walk ????‍♀️with Bliss, off-lead… it wasn’t a marathon – nothing crazy happened. But getting out of the door???? took effort… and the payoff was that my pup got a little sniffari, got to ???? somewhere besides her own yard (yes, I picked up!)… I got to see an elderly neighbor ???? who made it outdoors, sipped my coffee (don’t judge me) and generally had a pleasant start to our day.

    What’s a “win” you’ve had, recently?

I love this @catherine I can imagine how peaceful your walk was this am with Bliss and even could taste that sip of coffee you describe. Honestly- the only time I really am at peace and not ” over thinking” is when I hike with my pups. You are right, we have to remember the ” small” things, I definitely forget this a lot recently mostly starting in the business. My small win today was taking a walk too. I walk by myself 4 miles a day-Last week trimming trees I got a lovely present of poison oak. It was horrible and all over my legs- so I missed my walking for a week, missed opportunities with my dogs etc. Now that I am almost healed I got to enjoy an am walk again! So it was truly a win in my book!

OUCH – Poison oak is no joke! So glad you are on the mend. And a 4mile walk… impressive! That would be a HUGE win, in my book. Thanks for sharing!

This is such an awesome post. It’s really important to take time to appreciate yourself and just “be”.

Right? Ours is a “productivity culture”… sometimes the win is just … breathing. ????

I love this @catherine ! ???????? I agree, big or small, let’s celebrate those wins. For me, todays wins are: Walked Wai. And Wai helped make the walk short by pooping quickly. ???????? Now we are both chilling at home with the AC on HIGH ????. While I “sniff” away on my email and DD, Mr. Sleepy head takes a nap on the floor. ???? ahhh… so relaxing! ????????‍♀️

It’s true! I often get “up in my head” and lose track of the sweet little moments. What’s a win you’ve had, recently?

Oh boy I recently took my senior huskies out on an off leash walk ( I can almost hear the audible gasp????.. but dont hold your breath) THEY did AMAZING and recalled everytime. I wouldn’t do it all the time but at least I can say I taught my huskies reliable(mostly) recall!

          ???? ???? A reliable recall on Huskies!!?? That’s a HUGE Win!! ????????

Well done, @mtnwolfpup – that’s definitely worth celebrating. And so is the agency that they’ve earned, by being able to come back, off-lead. Wowza. ????

It’s funny because I feel like the universe was being cheeky because as soon as I got back, my super senior husky decided to get frisky and take herself on a walk about ????????‍♀️ resulted in a neighborhood wide search and the animal shelter put an apb on her ???????? ( she is deaf and we have big cats around so I want taking chances). We found her thank god, she was hiding under some brush. The overall point was a reminder not to get cocky with huskies ????????

Haha – dogs in general will keep you humble, that’s for sure. Glad she’s safely home!

I have had a win recently I thought I’d share. Wai and I always practice on going up-up on the garage aprons, while on our walk. 1 to stay out of the road and 2, to keep those paws safe from the hot road. ???? Here is a video. I practiced some come calls, in the beginning because there were some people up ahead. Lol sorry for the messy filming. ???? Enjoy! ????

I had a win today- not just my dog but me as well! I have been so busy with some training and I also started to train at Petco on the weekends (group) that I know my own dogs can feel it! I took my Berner for a walk and didn’t bring a treat ( I usually have two or three ) Thinking its hot and wont be long. As we walked an elderly neighbor walked towards us with a cane. I knew she fell before and had a hip replacement. Mack saw her and was really thinking its a good time to say Hi. I stepped back, gave him a touch cue, put him in a down stay and stood in front of him. Now this would be our normal routine- but when someone comes to talk I give one or two treats in that position as we chat. In my head I am like oh my goodness – what is this going to look like. The person came closer and closer saying he is sooo handsome and she wants to say Hi. I nicely said he is in training and I dont want him to think its okay to say Hi to everyone. In my head I never came across someone that had a medical procedure done recently and would have to advocate for the person. Being a Berner if Mack is comfortable and wants to say Hi he doesn’t jump but will sit on your foot and put his weight all on you. I knew in her condition this was not a good idea. The lady asked three times. I kept saying no. Mack held his stay the whole time as this person was just inches from him ( me in the middle of dog and person ) The whole time I was just so proud he was relaxed and knew the cue I asked and rehearsed many times. This was a win for him and I as a team because we put in the work. When he was released with is okay cue I made it fun and grabbed the closest stick for some quick tug. I could not be more proud! I also was proud of myself saying No three times. ( I used to give in ) As much as I try to keep our communication clear between Mack and I he is also teaching me to be a better trainer! Anyways just wanted to share!

@pawsup I’m so proud of Mack, and proud of you, too. Saying “no” to an aggressive greeter is tough! You did it 3 times AND Mack held that Stay!!! Woohoo!!! Hope you both enjoyed that walk. You deserved it after your busy weekend’

To follow in many of your paw steps:

This weekendc even though I had to work, I made some healthy vegetable soup for the week and have actually decided to eat that as my mainstay. I took a bubble bath on Saturday and a nap on Sunday. I spent time loving on my BF and my Eclectic parrot, Stella. Little steps towards my ultimate goal of not losing myself along the sole proprietor business journey of doing it all!
