Code Red Air!
How are all our Canadian and northeast US friends handling the scary bad air quality due to the wildfires? We’re in a code red in my neck of the woods. Trying to get enough physical and mental stimulation in for the dogs has been a challenge since we’re avoiding outdoor activities. We have the added obstacle of my cat being very sick and confined to the doggie play room right now. Destruction boxes, puzzle games, refreshing skills, and tug have been popular on the menu. Let’s hear what creative solutions others are employing right now! Here’s a photo of my girls being bored and bummed out (but cozy). Everyone stay safe and let’s hope things get under control soon, for the sake of wildlife and people alike!

Sorry you are in code red! It looks like it’s clearing up here in NYC but who knows for later. Yesterday I did some puzzles and desensitization with my dogs and a client.
The desensitization was to the new vacuum brush thing from Amazon. My dog is terrified of the vacuum so it was quite the challenge. But we are making small steps

It’s been awful here in CT too. Thankfully my dogs are not suffering without outdoor exercise.
Some indoor ideas I like to keep busy dogs entertained — various food puzzles, treasure hunts (hidden meals, treats, chews, food puzzles), and hide & seek.

I was just about to write about this topic today. Today was our full day mostly inside. My guys had some kongs and did some training with my Berner inside. My golden would sleep all day if she could!! I am hoping tomorrow is better! I definitely feel cabin fever, so I can’t imagine the pups!
