Happy Friday! I wanted to share this video of me introducing the tea towel roll to Betty. In time there will be far less treats in the roll. Later it will progress to a heavier towel, maybe a yoga mat. (Good for strengthening in addition to the sniffing benefits.) Look at the tail! Listen to those happy sniffs! ????

This is SO AWESOME! Go, Betty!! She’s so gentle – I am pretty sure my old golden would have just picked it up and shook it hard! LOL – That might be a fun challenge game – to video how our dogs interact differently with the same idea of a puzzle.

I LOVE her little sniff/snorts! Go, nose, go! She is so lucky to have you. ????

Yes! A lot of variations I’ve seen of the game asks for something harder for the roll or makes it more complicated. Because she’s so reserved I want to make sure she feels successful. I could see why many other dogs would need a sturdier option. Her little sounds are too cute and full me with glee. ????

That was so joyful to watch! It amazes me how systematic she was with her search, utterly fascinating/fascinated!

When Puzzle and I tried Nose Work, we got stuck on the Alert phase. I’m planning on giving it another try this summer with an official K9 Nose Work instructor, as I’ve heard their method is more intuitive.

I’ve done some basics with shelter dogs and have been mind-blown by how happily even the shy or easily frustrated ones engaged exploring boxes and how much it obviously relaxed them to do so.

    Thank you @Jeri!
