So I finally had some time to sit and get some words on the page about essential oils and dogs. I know there is a whole controversy surrounding the usage of EO on any animal. I am not a vet but I have and continue to use EO for years. Let me tell you why. I have seen totally incredible transformations in so many dogs . Now I want to be clear, I will only use one brand of EO and that is Young Living Essential oils. My entire life I have used thier products on me, on my dogs, horses, turtle, cats and yes even my fish ( this is not crazy… tea tree oil is actually used in alot of fish medicine). I know where the product is grown, how they are distilled( they are very open about this, you can even visit their farms all over the world!) And the company partners with all sorts of vets far and wide to make an exclusive EO animal line. And let me tell you they are AMAZING! A great friend of mine a well known vet named Terry Adkins ( also the first vet of the Iditarod… yes I just named dropped ????) was a sceptic until one of his dogs developed a massive growth on her neck. Medications were doing little and she was getting sicker and sicker. Then one day they decided to try some Frankensence, melrose and cedarwood on her and within a couple weeks it went away. I mean gone! She even was able to be a sled dog again!! For my babies, the EO have been the main defense in the kennel. Fly season? Nothing a little peppermint and theives can’t handle. Wounds? Melrose and animal sense. Even as my babies age I am helping arthritis and other maladies that come with old age with EO. They are happy and comfortable. There are so many uses for EO and in young living they have entire courses dedicated to working with animals and oils. EO can be used for more then just physical issues, they can also help emotionally. Sound woo woo but I have seen some great things happen. It can be a little overwhelming at first since we lean so much towards the old realiable medicine, but trust me when I say it’s worth everything. Even my fish! Now I definitely use western medicine and my dogs do see a veterinarian but having that extra tool in the tool box is great. My vet even jokes he can smell us a mile away when we come in and that we have to be the best smelling and healthiest patients around. Ha! I really encourage people to just check em out! No judgment at all, just wanted to share my experience since some of you were curious. A very relaxed Razzie getting her oils for reference ????

I love using EOs also and was thrilled when I found a vet that encourages the safe use of Essential Oils with my dogs. She even recommends certain ones in certain situations. 🙂
