????If we’ve learned anything from dogs, it’s that there’s ALWAYS a reason to celebrate something! ????

As we wrap up an incredible year together, I’m curious – what are a few of your favorite things from 2022?

    ????Did you reach a goal?

????Was there a special moment with your dog?

???? Did something someone said in DD make a difference for you?

It can be personal or professional – really – anything worth celebrating is worth sharing!

Before the big ball drop (Cue the retrievers!!), take a moment to reflect and share with us…
What’s one thing worth celebrating from the past year?

(Shout out to @Gretchen for sharing Mango’s photo with us – what a great shot!)

This year has been incredible !

      I have a few favorite things :

      March : started volunteering a

t my local shelter as a dog walker and starting enrichment , logged nearly 90 hours – those dogs are wonderful !

In April , my 9 yr old Lab Dessa was diagnosed with diabetes and although it was such a challenge emotionally , mentally & physically I did it , I handled it. I researched , educated myself & provided her with the best care and love.

Aug : started my therapy dog program visits with children- Jumbo rocked it !

Sept : Took in my first foster dog Honey found on a dirt road scared & emaciated. Taught her how to live in a house with structure, obedience & love. 3 months later she got adopted !

Oct : attended my 1st CATCH workshop- took home so many great skills, tools & memories

I predict 2023 will be an extension of 2022 and am so excited to see what manifests ! ????

Jordi, my tripod cocker, became an AKC Scent Work Master, with back to back qualifying scores in master interior on December 17th. Master interior was our most difficult class. It took us 15 tries to get three qualifying scores ????

I am so proud of this girl. She gives it her all with every search!

    Happy New Year everyone!

2022 was the year I started and completed my CATCH schooling — and my student dog and I scored a perfect 100 on our mentor evaluation. Graduated and got my first dog training job — all this year!

I graduated from the Catch Masterclass in October this year, quit my office job after a 25 year career in Sales and am now in the process of fulfilling my dream of starting my own dog training company next year. I’m also super proud of my 2 dogs Tux and Luna. Luna is my senior that is turning 13 this year and still has the zoomies in her every night. Tux is 4 next year and we reached a great milestone tackling his reactivity to other dogs. We are finally able to walk past other dogs without him exploding and turning into a wild beast.

Without a doubt, the best thing that happened to me last year is all things CATCH. I attended a week-long workshop in March and got hooked. At that workshop was a CATCH grad, also from Minnesota. She ended up hiring me to work at her board and train facility. I also started the Master Class program in May, hope to graduate no later than April 2023.

Grateful to meet so many wonderful people through this program. A special shout out to Morgan, my program director. She’s simply the best.

I am so thankful for Catch this past year! I just finished my final exam and so grateful for the opportunity to study such a thorough and comprehensive program! We are blessed as trainers to have such awesome knowledge about dogs. Looking forward to working with many more dogs!

Wow- there are a lot of great accomplishments in this thread! Congrats to all of you and your successes!

I think my accomplishment is everything that has to do with my dog training journey, as many have stated. What started out as a personal learning agenda years ago has spiraled into a professional agenda this year, including graduating Catch, earning my CPDT-KA certification, completing Mike Shikashio’s Aggression in Dogs course, becoming a certified Mantrailing instructor and officially opening a business to help dogs and their humans! Phew!

This year end also gives me piece of mind that my sister’s dog Barkley is slowly improving. With that comes a sense of accomplishment. That accomplishment would not have been possible without the support of everyone involved that has helped me in every capacity, even if they they just listened. I am grateful and thankful for the dog training community and pet parents who entrust us with their dogs well being. A special thank you to this community for sharing stories, ideas and experiences this year! I am looking forward to all the info that will be shared in 2023!

Congrats on everyone’s accomplishments. This digging dog/ Catch community has been awesome. Although I have been training dogs for a very long time, I have a new perspective of dog training thanks to Catch. I’m in a position now to spread all this awesome knowledge to my students at the college I work at. We have the only 4 year B.S degree in the US in Canine Training and Management. I’m spreading the word
