Abby is a 7 month old rescue mix. This is my 3rd session. I’m using Systematic Desensitization-it is a behavioral technique that has been found to be successful in reducing or eliminating the separation related behavior problem in dogs.

This is my successful 3rd session with Abby. She’s a fast runner & was scared of the leash. She has improved with training. She had only been in the house or out in back yard for the first 3 weeks, she’s now proudly walking around the neighborhood.

My 3rd session I usually use (chopped dehydrated chicken heart).YUMMY. I made my three small baggies with the treats. I was in a hurry and could not find my treat pouch. LOL.

went to train Abby outside for leash manners. And before I knew it she had the treats in a baggie in her mouth & took off running with it. LOL. By the time we got her she had eaten all her treats. We all laughed.

Lesson learned : Don’t forget your treat pouch.

Hhahah – this made me laugh! Oh thank you for sharing.

It reminds me of the time I went to a client’s house to pick up their two Airedale pups for training. I left my truck cab door open and came back to find their 3 Newfoundlands jammed in there, scarfing down my bags of cheese, chicken and tortellini! I didn’t know the Newfs were loose!

    I. did. not. laugh. ???? I was sooo mad because these clients lived a long ways out of town and now I had nothing to work with. And they weren’t home so I couldn’t pillage their fridge.

I learned to keep my doors closed.

Can’t beat working with dogs; they’re always teaching us something!
