Stay is another incredibly valuable cue to have in your toolbox, and we’ve got another great game to really help you build on this behavior in a distracting environment! Feel free to grab some dogs and a friend and give it a try.

Show us your dogs, at any level of training, playing this game. Videos are super easy to upload with our app.

You are also welcome to share this game on social media as well.

This is a wonderful infographic!! Anytime you can “gamify” learning it makes it so much more fun for both our learners AND us.

Does anyone else have ways they “gamify” their recall practice?

I have folks practice puppy ping pong. Two people fairly close together one calls the dog (once) with their recall word and uses attention noise or patting their leg to help the dog recall then rewards at their pants seam to bring the dog all the way into their body. I talk about turning away and not leaning over the dog to facilitate. Then that person who just called turns around facing away from the puppy as the other person calls the dog.

Once we have practiced collar grabs, I add a bit of resistance collar grab to this game. The participants can take a step back from each other as the puppy progresses. Also, you can play this game with the whole family in a circle. Kids seem to like this game as the rules are clear and its usually really fun for the puppy as well. It teaches the family to have the dog come all the way into their space when recalling.

@abbie oh, I really like this game!! I love that the whole family can get involved. So often kids want to interact with their dog but aren’t sure how to do it. Even younger kids can play this game.

        Excellent job explaining it!!

@Abbie Your puppy ping pong sounds a lot like this Two Timer Come game. Whatever we call it – I agree that it’s a great game for the whole family!
