Hello from MA
Hi there, My name is Althea (she/they)! I love being able to talk about dogs and get into the nitty gritty, so I’m super excited to be apart of this group.
I currently don’t have my own dog but I don’t let that stop me from getting plenty of time with some great pups. I work part time as a dog trainer where I teach puppies, basic obedience classes, and even swim lessons in an indoor pool! I also have quite a few dog walking clients who I get to see regularly. They’re such great clients and they’ve definitely helped lead me to taking the leap into opening my own business.
Now, I have a question for you. What is your favorite breed(s) or mixes? I find it so hard to pick a favorite, but the Rhodesian Ridgeback is definitely on my list

Hi Althea! OMD – you get to teach puppies to swim!?! I’m so jealous! That’s awesome. Ridgebacks are very cool dogs. I lived with one belonging to a roomie years ago. We were in Montana and I joked about the big brave lion hunter who couldn’t go outside without his sweater. ???? Great discussion question. I encourage you to start a new post for it over in “other dog topics” as it may get more reads/replies over there. Good luck!

It’s so much fun! I don’t really teach them how to swim, but rather get used to the ramp we have so they can get in and out of the pool. It’s a great training exercise for me, I really have to just encourage them and go at the dogs pace. Thanks Catherine!
