HoundTable Sports Talk with Deb Pierce -Agility and Nosework! April 19-4pm EDT
???? Deb Pierce has been training dogs and their people in many sports for decades. She raises puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind, has worked training various critters on many commercial and movie projects with Talented Animals, including OK GO’s White Knuckles music video. Deb and her husband Bart teach and compete in Fast CAT, dock diving, agililty and nosework with their golden retriever, border collie and Coton de Tulear.
????Deb has agreed to join us for our April HoundTable LIVE and chat all about performance training. We’ll be sharing videos of these amazing dogs and their successes. We’ll also get real about when things don’t go quite as you’d hoped.

As someone who got her dogs for the soul purpose of becoming a sports team I really hope I can make this event! I’m looking for summer time sports for these guys. They are swimmers (Yes I know they are huskies) so swimmers on their terms. 😉 … Also retrieving huskies – To me this proves you can find the thing that makes the pup excited an encourage them to have fun! We have also dipped our paws into agility and barn hut (they are pretty awesome at that one).

These are great videos, @carolyn ! Did you teach the one to station on the doghouse or was that volunteered? Either way, what a nice behavior to avoid conflict. It’s exciting to see dogs doing what they are bred to do and also watching someone take on the challenge of teaching dogs to do other work. I do hope you can join the conversation!

Jumping on the dog house was his idea I just went with it. The third dog is new to this game, he’s learning, it took a bit to get him to wait for his turn.
