    Hi Catherine & All!

Joy is beautiful! I love how young she looks, even at 10.

I am looking forward to learning more from all the pros here. I posted that I’m a “Developing Pro”, because I am still new to training even though I am also a professional dog walker and pet sitter. I’m still trying to soak everything dog-wise up.

The dog I posted in my profile is named Maddon, a beautiful Chocolate Lab I used as my student dog back when I did Core Program. I’m studying in Masters now and have been dog-less (at home), except for the wonderful and amazing dog clients I have daily.

I started my business, “Training, Walks & Petsits by Paula, LLC” in March of 2020 after I graduated. (That was scary.) I lost my two faithful friends, Samson & Tara, in Feb. and Apr. 2020, but I still have my beloved Eclectus parrot, Stella, who I’m dying to train with everything I’ve learned about dogs.

Hope everyone is enjoying decent pre-autumnal weather!

    -Paula

You can do it, Lisa!!! So far, it’s been “scary-good”, if that helps! ☺️

@LisaD Thanks for your vulnerability here. Yes, it is so scary to start up. I remember the first time I taught a group class and I was shaking in my boots! It gets easier. I think of it a bit like driving a car. At first, you’re hyper aware because so many things could happen and cause a disaster, but after a while, you start to see patterns and some things can be downgraded to “auto-pilot” while keeping the urgently important things (like incoming traffic and dog-body language!) remain on your more alert side. You are going to do great!

@Bernerlabreclectus YES! Scary-good! I joke that a day without my hands tingling in excitement is not really a full day – get out there and challenge yourself to do hard things and with that, your confidence grows, right!? Can you name one thing that used to scare you (more) but now is easier?

Welcome Paula! Thank you for sharing about your dogs and journey. How thrilling to start your business – and yes, SCARY! But courage is = “Feeling the fear and doing the thing, anyway!” So congrats on having so much courage! We’re glad you are here.

    Hi Paula!
I love your Eclectus! (Always wanted one). Thanks for admitting it’s scary! I’m in phase 7 (and scared!) and I see so many people around my area starting up but I’m slowly getting more confidence. Welcome 🙂 Lisa

Hello again @Bernerlabreclectus ! I wanted to let you know that I moved your introduction post to create its own thread in our Intros & Convos. I apologize that I accidentally deleted one of the comments (from @David ) and I hope he’ll repost his comment on your beautiful family. I’m still learning the platform and thought that I could move it all at once, but oops! Nope! Thanks for your patience with me!

Hi Paula, I am reposting as @Catherine requested since the other one got deleted by mistake. Your family is gorgeous and wow that red bird! It is awesome to see you push past your fears (we all have to in order to get to that “next level”, whatever it may be at a particular time in life). Great for you, great for your human and dog clients alike!
