It’s the Little Things!
I have news that I know only animal lovers would understand: for the first time in six weeks, Toki had an almost normal poop yesterday! For 6 weeks, his GI symptoms had been just terrible to witness, but last night we saw a glimmer of hope. I know this small victory doesn’t mean his cancer will go away, but it does show us that his treatment is starting to work, if only a little/for a little while. The last week and a half especially have been awful, watching him be sick and feeling helpless. I’ll be honest with everyone in Digging Dogs: grief makes me a terrible person. The worst version of mysef. Like…run if you see me coming. I, like many of the dogs I love, have “very big feelings” LOL. So, we celebrated Toki last night! He received an award, cookies, and even another visit from one of his best buds (because he felt up to it and had energy). As I type this, he is snoring peacefully next to me – another win, as rest had been difficult for him to achieve for quite some time. I don’t know if this post really has a “moral to the story”. I guess I’m just sharing to show that there can be a little happiness and silliness when we least expect it during difficult times. Grab onto it when you can! ❤

???? ???? If there was a Poop Trophy, I’d send it! The emoji version will have to do. So glad you can both get a little relief from Toki’s GI improvement. That’s big news, for sure.
