LIVE Training Workshop! Can't Touch This! TODAY! Tues. Nov. 29 3pm EST
????Puppies that pick up and chew everything. Adolescent dogs that seem overly “wired” ⚡ and can’t stop and think. Any dog who counter-surfs, jumps up in greetings, bites clothing to get attention, lunges and swallows dropped food (or other small items!) ????- BRING THEM ALL!
We’re going to spend 60-75 minutes working on these problem behaviors and getting some serious skills built together in this Live Workshop Training Class!
????We’ll spend the first 15 minutes WITHOUT DOGS, talking about the problems, why dogs do what they do, and setting up simple management strategies so that the dogs don’t get to practice unwanted behavior while we work on training new behaviors.
The remainder of the time, we’ll be practicing together in a unique, on-line live class. You are welcome to bring a dog or attend to observe and learn without a dog. All are welcome. ????
Here’s what you need to participate with a dog:
- ???? A dog who is rested, a little bit hungry and ready to learn!
- ???? A camera with a microphone so you can attend the Zoom meeting. (Be sure you have Zoom app installed.)
- ????A distraction-free space to train, with a non-slip surface. We should be able to see the whole area with your camera.
- ???? 200 pea-sized high-value morsels to use as treats. This can be their regular kibble; for some dogs that’s high value enough. If you aren’t sure, check out our game, ▶ Find the Value.◀
- ????A long tug-toy such as long rope, or a braided fleece like the ▶ones we made together here◀
- ????(Optional) For some dogs who may easily be “too ramped up” and overwhelming in the beginning, consider using a tether to keep them in one place safely while you move away. This is best done with the dog wearing a safe back-clip harness.
Other tips – You’ll want to work with just one dog at a time. If you have other family members who want to watch, be sure that they understand only one person is working with the dog during this class. It will be really helpful if your dog already knows how to SIT.
You can save this Zoom Link for the meeting – we’ll begin letting people join about 5 minutes prior to our start time, to allow for camera and tech adjustments.
