He is a new rescue for us. We are having some (fairly difficult) issues with him. I am starting a behavior program with a certified behavior vet this week as there could be some safety issues. I am looking here for more general tips…. and please no offense here (I am a bit overwhelmed)… I just dont want to air it all in public. I am looking forward to all your input.

No worries at all – and no offense taken whatsoever. I’m sure you will come away from the chat with some useful info – and you can always send me a private message if there’s something you’d like addressed, anonymously. You won’t be the only one! Thanks!

Hi,
Please include the Terrier group. I fostered, then adopted, a spunky 1.5 year old Terrier mix that resource guards his crate, doesn’t know how to nicely meet other dogs, yet, he’s won my heart. We currently have a 5 yr old lab on bed rest after ligament surgery 10-12 more weeks of bed rest…A nine years old GS who is pretty mellow until he’s not. The challenges to keep my lil Terrier entertained and enriched can be quite a challenge for me. I forgot how much energy the younger pups can have, add that to his breed mix and I’m quite exhausted by the end of the day. Any help, direction, or plans to make this a better life for all of us is greatly appreciated. I love all my dogs and am so thankful that he cuddles and chills with me in the evening.
thanks,
Lisa
Taz (GS), Hunter (Lab), and Gus (Terrier)

@lis – this really helps to see the problems – thanks for the details!

TTerrier for me too. They are so prey driven. My terrier focus on rats, mice, birds etc.

Indeed. The force is strong with them! ????

Guardian and or herding! But any will be fabulous and exciting!

This is going to be fantastic and interesting, no matter which groups we discuss – thanks everyone, for your suggestions of breeds and the groups they represent… So far I see:
Sight Hound, Terrier, Scent Hound, Bulldog, Herding, Guardian and Gun Dog.
You guys. That’s more than 3. ????
Of these 6, Sight Hound & Terrier have a little “blurb” added for information so I’ll be sure Kelsey has those on her radar. Thanks, Lisa and Len!
I’ll let Kelsey pick the other one to highlight. And if I know her, she’s gonna sneak in something about each of the 10 groups anyway. She does that. ????
Can’t wait to see ya’ll next week!
I’ll post the link to the group in THIS CONVERSATION on the day of the event.
