Maybe I’m just a luddite but when I read a post and then I go to the reply , for some reason my post seems to be replying to another reply (randomly?) of the same post. So I’m unable to reply to the poster directly but instead reply to one of the posters replies (does this even make sense). If someone can tell me that this is either 1. normal or 2. how to reply directly to the poster I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

    Hi Abbie,

Sorry for the frustration you are experiencing! I totally understand this can be confusing. It may help to know that the replies are “threaded”. On the web within your browser, if you click big Blue Button Reply at the top of the discussion, you’ll be replying to the original person and your reply will appear at the bottom of the thread. If you click the little arrow within the thread, in the corner of whichever comment you are reading, you’ll be replying directly to that person and your comment will appear indented underneath that person’s post.

It’s similar on the app, but the “reply” comes directly underneath each post within the discussion, so it’s a bit more intuitive, I think.

    Does that help?

Thanks Catherine. This is a reply using the little arrow in your comment. I’m going to also use the blue button and see what happens.

@abbie I’ve noticed that too. I think it’s just the way our platform is working at the moment – it pulls in the name of someone else who replied to the same post and says “you’re replying to (that person)” – but your reply IS going under the original post that you want to comment on, even though the author of that original post is different from what it’s showing. Sorry for the confusion on that, we continue to work on these kinks as we go.

So this a reply using the big blue button but on top it says reply to: Catherine Comden, which is a little confusing. No problem though… just thought I would ask.

Yes I see when you hit the big blue button it puts your comment at the end of the thread and when you press the arrow in the corner of a post, it puts your reply under the post.

Ah – yes, it seems David’s answering your question here. I’ve noticed that too sometimes. Bear with us as we get our platform and App as functional as possible! Thanks for the feedback.

I’ve seen that before, too, @programdev and wondered. Thanks for explaining it.
