Share a Recall Clip! Let’s make a video montage!
Posted by Catherine Comden on January 3, 2022 at 12:21 pmThis month, we are digging in to some of the foundational behaviors we need our dogs to reliably perform on cue: COME, LEAVE IT and STAY.
We are looking forward to seeing LOTS of your videos as there are many, many ways to teach these fundamental skills! Puppies and adults welcome!
Here’s a clip @RADS posted awhile back showing Points performing a gorgeous, ear-flying recall. Let’s see more!
Share a clip of any level of recall. If we get enough participants, I’ll make a montage video for us all to enjoy!

HI, this is a clip taken last summer as part of an Ob-stay-cle course offered by a local human and canine fitness trainer. There were a total of 11 challenges each member had to complete out in the community and then submit the videos to complete. It was so much fun and Stella loves doing new things and conquering new challenges so we do a lot with this local company including dog yoga (yoga that you do with your pup) and pupilates.
Recall is something Stella has been very good at for many years (IMO lol)❤️

This is fun, @HHPS Marj, what a great challenge! Stella is soooo fast!

haha, thanks Catherine – I also call her rocketdog – those little legs can move! I think we should try the weiner dog races this summer if they hold them ????

Here is Mr. Barkley (AKA Pupiranha) learning a recall with distractions! He is approximately 4.5 months at this time. He picked up this recall easily thanks to novel-novel training!!!

Trying to catch up. We are visiting family and I haven’t been with my dogs. I will post videos when we will be back at home again. I honestly have been using the hand targeting “touch” for recall with my little dog because he does so well with it.
-
@ktinan me too!!!
I feel like a nose target is a POWERFUL recall and have had so many clients tell me it’s literally saved their dogs life. One client had just taught the behavior a few weeks before when her dogs jumped out of the car and parent drop off at school. She said it was dark and raining and she was panicked recognizing the dog would likely be hit. She yelled “Ernie touch” and he turned and jumped back in to the car to bump her hand.❤️

@AmyMc your story gave me goosebumps!! I’m so glad that she took the time to teach Touch!

Sorry I’m late my dogs were in daycare for 2.5 weeks.
Not the best video but here is our recall “touch” with my little one.
This just works best for him. He touched my fingers unfortunately he was too fast for me to get it on video ????.

@ktinan that is what I like to call a rocket recall. So much fun to watch, thanks for sharing!!
