In 2 weeks I have 2 liter-mate GS to train. They will be 4 months old. What are some suggestions, train together one with client & one with me? One at a time? If you suggest one at a time…..the whole session or 15-20 then train the other 15-20 minutes. Thanks for your help. I love ❤️ D&D app.

@Denise , I like your idea to co-train the pups at the same time and would just recommend switching handlers midway. Also, training one at a time is a great idea, allotting a portion of the lesson to each pup.

As litter mates growing up together, I think it’s incredibly important that they engage in activities without one another, whether that be training, yard time, play time, quality time with pet parent, crating in separate locations, etc. It’s too easy for them to hyper-bond to one another and then — potentially — have a hard time coping when they must be inevitably separated.

Are they same sex, or opposite?

    They are ADORABLE!

Oh. My. Dog. These pups!! Such amazingness and fun.

I echo everything Virginia said! You really can’t go wrong either way you run your session.

Definitely encourage the owner to have the pups be separate as often as possible, especially with GSDs. I would go so far as to involve another family member and have pups trade a day or two away at someone else’s house once a month if they are willing! But at the minimum, alternate daily outings away from the other pup and time in the house in separate crates. It’s a lot, but the payoff of emotionally stable dogs is worth it. 🙂

I love the suggestions that they have a family member take a dog for the day and spend time with just him. This is a family that has the dogs but the teenagers aren’t really interested in the dogs. They’re more interested in girls lol.
