  • Video: Brindle II – Next 10 Seconds – Body Language Breakdown Part 2

Posted by David Muriello on April 22, 2022 at 10:36 am

    What do you see? ????

    • Observe just the brindle mix.
    • Choose a range of 3 seconds to that you are going to focus on.
    • For those 3 seconds, list the details for any body language or behavior you see in Brindle.
    • Time stamp your list just by writing the “second” you saw it in front of your observations.
    • Stick to the 3-second range you focused on, but you can also jump in to give positive feedback to other observations you agree with.

????Comment on what you see and get your name on the final project writeup! This is the second of several posts that will take us through this fascinating video. The whole video is less than a minute. But, it’s amazing how much happens in a minute and the interaction gets more interesting and intense as it goes. The last stage of this Body Language Breakdown will be the interpretation. For now, try to focus on just observation (without guessing what’s going on). Share what you see! ????

Brindle after the 1st 17 seconds- turns to left back toward the bulldog, head down and sniff the floor in front of the bulldog, walks around the dog passing to its right side. When the bulldog walks forward, he walks parallel to the dog, passes in front quickly blocking and runs off.

sec 5- sniffs under and moves around bulldog

sec 6- bulldog moves and brindle quickly moves to intercept in front

sec 6 – Brindle has nose to floor behind Bulldog (who is walking away), ears erect, front elbows bent more than leg elbows to create leaning forward approach. Tail is high. Body turns towards where Bulldog was before walking away.

sec 7 – Brindle runs parallel in attempts to pass Bulldog who is walking away. Brindle’s head simultaneously turning back to face Bulldog with ears erect.

sec 8 – Brindle’s tail is high with slight wagging. Runs past and in front of Bulldog while turning head to look back at Bulldog.

2: Brindle’s head turns to the top of the bulldog’s butt, then his head dips to the bulldog’s elbow; slight tail wag; tail is at spine level; ears are erect

3: Brindle curves his body to step in front of the bulldog; his head is oriented towards the wall; nose is towards the ground; single tail wag with the tail around spine level (maybe a little elevated); ears are still erect

4: Brindle’s head dips as he curves and walks to be on the opposite side of the bulldog; Nose goes to the ground to sniff near the bulldog; ears are still erect; tip of the tail has a slight sway, but the tail as a whole is stiff; the tail is carried high; legs are tense while Brindle steps around the bulldog

Great observations @denny @hollyjmartinez @debbie @Malia – we’ve now got this segment covered. Be on the lookout tomorrow for the next section. That cutoff from Brindle is a precursor to a lot more action so the next segment is going to be full of details.
The post remains open for anyone else who wants to add details or agree with what your fellow members are seeing.
