  • Video: Bulldog Part 1 – Seeing the Other Side – Body Language Breakdown Part 5

Posted by David Muriello on May 4, 2022 at 9:27 am

Now it’s time to focus on BULLDOG. ????After we identify all of his body language, then we will interpret the interaction between the two dogs. Everyone who shares a comment will get their name on the final writeup. ???? What do you see from Bulldog in these first 17 seconds?

    • Observe just the Bulldog.
    • Choose a range of 3 seconds to that you are going to focus on.
    • For those 3 seconds, list the details for any body language or behavior you see in Bulldog.
    • Time stamp your list just by writing the “second” you saw it in front of your observations.
    • Stick to the 3-second range you focused on, but you can also jump in to give positive feedback to other observations you agree with.

To see examples of a previous posts, Brindle part 4 is here.

To move ahead to Bulldog part 2, go here.

For now, try to focus on just observation (without guessing what’s going on). Share what you see!
????????Can’t wait to hear from everyone, we are crushing it on this breakdown. Keep it going into the final writeup.

    1. starts in a sitting position, then stands up and still (almost parallel to Brindle), ears appears rotated or slightly back, head facing forward and slightly downward, eyes downward, mouth closed, eyes blink once

    2. Body still and almost parallel to Brindle, head and neck turn toward brindle’s genital area, eyes blink, ears appear rotated or slightly back, mouth closed

    3. Body still and almost parallel to Brindle, head and neck facing toward brindle’s genital area, ears appear rotated or slightly back, mouth closed, slight head movement when Brindle moves closer to him

1 – bulldog moves from laying down to standing position

2 – turns to sniff brindle belly/back half of body

    2 – head positioned downward

2 – ears appear to be slightly back but not flat

    2 – eyes appear soft

    3 – eyes close

3 – bulldog slightly moves head back (or away?) after movement from brindle

after 3 seconds, bulldog’s eyes, nose, lips out of sight for remainder of video

    – bulldog’s body appears to be relaxed/not tense

The bulldog is facing one way and takes 2-3 steps forward. Then spends the rest of the 15 seconds sniffing or licking the pee pee on the brindle.

6 sec. I see the bulldog shift his weight back as brindle moves into him. Next he moves head and neck forward and left to sniff while body remains in same position.

I love this detail on the weight shift. We are definitely going to see a consistent picture of Bulldog’s responses when we get into interpretation very soon.
