Video Part 3/3: Teaching Down Stay
I’ve previously shared part 1 and part 2 of Ferdie Yau CPDT-KA working on teaching a shelter dog, Roxy, “down stay”. Today, we’ve got part 3, where Ferdie ups the ante once more by adding a third person.
It’s so exciting to help a young dog gain this concept of hold-your-place until I return to you, especially with so many different distractions!
What do you think is the biggest reason that Ferdie was successful adding a third person to this dog’s same session?

Roxy is getting all the treatos!!!. They were able to add the third person because they were successful in the previous step that is moving in circles pattern with 2 persons. Also, every person is walking slow and calm and reinforcing the dog to hold his position.
