More About Me

The Quick Scoop

Hi Everyone!
Update: It is good to be back after a long reprieve finishing up my studies @CATCH and completing my CPDT-KA. I have also been fortunate enough this year to start up dog walking and training in my area. It took off before I could even get my business details under way so that is next. I am very proud of my dog Freya who just completed her advanced class at St. Hubert’s. She went from a very nervous mouth foaming drooling dog who shook at cones and chairs moving to a confident relaxed and happy dog on the loosest leash imaginable. It’s been 9 months since her Basic 1 class and can’t believe the transformation!
I am so excited to get back in the conversations happening at Digging Dogs!

I look forward to making connections and sharing experiences with you and I am so grateful to be a part of this impressive group. I have already gained many take-aways from the first Beta launch that have improved my training – participating is definitely worth it! I live in NJ and love volunteering as teaching assistant in the dog training program at St. Hubert’s Rescue with my mentor. My dog Freya and I are current students in the CATCH Master program and plan to finish soon. Freya was rescued at 17 weeks and is now 1.5 years old. She is an amazing training dog, super athletic, goofy and full of endless energy.

Training has been an interest of mine for a while now and I’m glad I’ve been able to connect with CATCH Academy and push forward. For the last 20+ years I have been a college adjunct professor of acting and director of theatre. Through years of experience collaborating with artists, I have learned that true partnerships are based on trust, honesty, and self expression – all of which start with being relaxed! Now I am learning that our dogs relate and interact with us best when we are relaxed, happy and reciprocal to what they are communicating.

When I’m not teaching or training with Freya, I also work with horses and own a pandemic rescue pony named Petie who is adorable, smart, silly and fully therapeutic to be around.
