I LOVE this video! Seeing WillowBee’s full muzzle clearly go down through the water is so neat. Make no assumptions about breeds! If labs can dock dive, papillions can snorkel.

@ClaudiaRida do you know your boys’ breeds by any chance? (either by parentage or DNA tests)

@bernerlabreclectus It is amazing how they’ve bonded. Needless to say we are THRILLED. Hazel is getting old, though, so sometimes I look ahead and wonder what he is going to do without her. When he goes out the back door first he literally waits until she comes along until he steps out from the deck onto the grass. 😮

The factor here that works great for kids is having the chin rest on the leg, with both the kid sitting criss cross on the floor. The rest is patient and positive coaching of course, and training the dog yourself a lot first so the transfer of understanding is easier for the dog.

Follow all the rules that your trainer tells you 😉 but then when things go a little astray, don’t take yourself or your plan too seriously.

Thanks guys, we are really excited to keep bringing innovative online products to the dog community. This one can be played by any age and can be “straightforward”, or more challenging in hard mode where you have to come up with options on your own (and don’t get color until the fifth flip!)

The chin rest is one of our favorite things that we ever taught Lido. Here’s a snippet of him learning it with my daughter. This is part of a presentation I did for the APDT Conference. It was all about teaching kids to be part of the training process. Super fun stuff! 😄
